On The Go: Our Westport City GuideMarch 27, 2017
We couldn’t be more excited to open our doors in Westport, Connecticut this Friday. With a stunning seaside, quaint Downtown and vibrant arts scene, we knew this New England charmer was the perfect home for our latest Anthropologie & Co. Planning a visit? There’s so much more to do than shop! (Although we have to admit, the shopping is excellent.) Whether you’re spending the day or the weekend, here’s our guide to staying awhile in style.
WHAT TO DO
Come summertime, Westport’s coast comes to life with sailing, kayaking and paddleboarding. Even though it’s not quite sunbathing weather yet, you and your pup can enjoy a walk along dog-friendly Compo Beach, a favorite among locals for sunset picnics.
If you’re a history buff, you’re in the right place. A pivotal player in the Revolutionary and Civil wars, Westport has a rich and storied past. Pay a visit to the Westport Historical Society for exhibits and guided walking tours.
WHERE TO EAT
Our first stop in Westport? Coffee An’ Donut, without a doubt. This cozy mom-and-pop shop is famous for their donuts, and for good reason—we always leave with two boxes.
If you want to dine seaside, look no further than bartaco. A casual beach bar with a neighborhood vibe, it’s perfect for lunch, happy hour or a laid-back dinner. (Whatever time you go, make sure to try the banh mi taco!)
Just a few steps away from Anthropologie & Co. is SoNo Baking Company, home of our favorite local latte and an impressive selection of post-shopping pastries.
And, of course, we’d love for you to join us at Amis Trattoria, our full-service, in-store restaurant featuring Executive Chef Brad Spence’s inspired spin on Italian classics and family recipes.
WHERE TO STAY
Spending the weekend? Lovely! With a classic Colonial wink, boutique hotel Delmar Southport is a favorite among our Anthropologie & Co. associates. Also on their list: the Westport Inn and Hotel Zero Degrees, which boasts a roof deck for all your lounging needs.
