5 Things You Didn’t Know About…Eva Franco

The way we see it, Eva Franco has some explaining to do. Perfectly tailored and totally timeless, her ladylike dresses and party-ready skirts seem to be handcrafted by an especially generous fairy godmother. Curious as to how she knows our exact measurements, we checked in with the LA-based designer to talk shop (and, sure, maybe figure out where she hides that magical tiny-waist wand). While Eva didn’t quite admit to fit-and-flare witchcraft, she did acknowledge a design cauldron of sorts.

From sketch to store: the Isabella Dress, the Ambra Dress and the Cadenza Dress from Eva Franco’s exclusive petites collection for Anthropologie.

On how she knew she was cut from designer cloth: I was seven years old, dressing my family for fashion shows in my living room.

On the joy of cooking: Designing is like cooking a big pot of stew — until you taste the medley, you’re not sure what you’ve been creating.

On why she’s in the market for a time machine: Time destroys textiles; it’s as fragile as butterfly wings.

Still on her to-do list: Learn to race cars.

Her favorite part about last year: Finding true love.

Take a look inside Eva’s amazing Los Angeles Studio.
