Fan Fashion: Winning Outfits for the Big Game

January 31, 2018

What do you wear to a watch a football game?

In theory, jeans and a tee will do just fine. But this Sunday is an important one for us here at the Anthropologie Home Office, which is just down the road from the Eagles’ stadium in South Philadelphia. After seasons of heartbreak, we’re finally watching our home team in the big game—thank you, Nick Foles!—and we thought the occasion called for something a little more celebratory. After all, it’s been years since we last saw the Birds play in February (14 long years, to be exact, but who’s counting).

For some outfitting inspiration, we turned to Kendall Kremer, a Pennsylvania-based blogger and lifelong Eagles fan. Don’t worry, Patriots fans—we have you covered, too. In the name of good sportsmanship, we asked New England-based blogger and Instagram favorite Jess Ann Kirby for her Pats picks. After decades of watching Tom Brady collect championship ring after championship ring, she’s quite the expert.

Read on for their sporty style picks, and may the best team (ahem, the Eagles) win.

FOR THE EAGLES FAN

“Instead of a jersey, I’m showing my Eagles spirit by wearing green this weekend. The team’s color can be a tough shade to pull off, but I love it in this checkered pattern. As dramatic as this silhouette is, it’s so comfortable and easy to wear.”

“I’m considering this game a special occasion, so it calls for a little sparkle. With a hint of green, these earrings are perfect.”

“The Eagles haven’t been to the Super Bowl since 2004, so I’m wearing heels on Sunday! These are super comfortable though, and can stand up to cheering.”

“This is our year to win—I can feel it. But that said, a little good luck charm never hurts.”

FOR THE PATRIOTS FAN

“The great thing about the Patriots is that their colors are so easy to wear. Subtle and cheeky, this graphic tee is perfect for Sunday.”

“My game-day style always includes denim. I love this pair from Citizens of Humanity—they’re relaxed, but still cut slim for a modern look.”

“I’ll top off the look with a red beret. It’s a great pop of color—and perfect for tossing in the air when the Pats win.”

“I’m very superstitious, so we always have to watch the game at our house. We make tons of yummy food—and, of course, spicy jalapeño margaritas, even with a blizzard outside.”
