It’s 5-O’Clock Somewhere: The Elderflower Gin Fizz

Let’s be honest: Easter morning lost a bit of its luster once the bunny stopped bringing a basket. Our adults-only consolation prize? The Elderflower Gin Fizz, a citrus-kissed, foam-finished cocktail that pairs perfectly with holiday brunch spreads (and, we’re pleased to report, the morning’s customary handful of jellybeans). Now hop to it!

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

2 oz. gin
1 oz. elderflower liqueur
1.5 oz. lemon, orange or grapefruit juice
1 egg white
Ice
Sparkling water


HOW TO MAKE IT

Combine gin, elderflower liqueur, citrus juice and egg white in a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously for several minutes, then add ice and shake again until chilled. Strain and pour into a glass (we’re partial to ourFraise glassware). Slowly add sparkling water (be careful not to disturb the foam top!) and serve.
