Master It: A Friendship BouquetFebruary 6, 2014
As much as Valentine’s Day is about the red-hot-steamy kind of love (…or so we’re told), it also presents a great opportunity to thank some of the most important people in our lives: our friends and family. So we asked the talented ladies of Forƒªt, a floral styling and design company in Somerville, Massachusetts, to create a bouquet that’s guaranteed to brighten the day of your sister, friend, mother, coworker or mentor.
Å“Here in New England, once the holidays have passed and the new year has had time to settle in, February can bear mixed feelings. It may bring a serene scene of downy white or a salt-encrusted grey landscape. Friendships are what keep us captivated during these darker months.
Å“The feeling we went for when choosing our palette was charming, delicate and sweetjust like the friend we planned on giving this to. When you’re giving the gift of flowers, choose colors and flowers that reflect the recipient’s personality.
Å“We chose poppies for their fine-spun, paper-like petals and ranunculus for their soft, pillowy layers. We like daffodils for their humor and smile, and tulips for their foreshadowing of spring and their friendly, far-from-stuffy attitude.
Å“Our colors stayed in the range of cream to rich pink, emphasizing peach and pale yellow. We felt like these said Ëlove’ without screaming it.
