We’ve found the secret to happy hosting is a make-ahead menu, which is why we love the Cherry Bounce. This so-easy, so-toasty concoction from An Illustrated Guide to Cocktails couldn’t be more party-friendly: Mix it up a whole month (!) in advance, then serve neat with the infused cherries. Goodbye garnishes, goodbye ice bucket, hello relaxation.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
750 ml bourbon or brandy (one standard size bottle)
1 quart cherries
1 cup sugar
HOW TO MAKE IT
Combine ingredients in a big jar with a lid; let the flavors mingle for at least a month. When your patience runs out, serve neat in a festive tumbler.
