Required Reading: Our Back-to-School ChecklistSeptember 3, 2013
You can tell us as many times as you want that the year begins in January, but for us, it’s all about September. Even though we’re no longer on the academic circuit, we still get excited thinking about the preparations for the new school year: cracking open a new notebook whose pages are pristine and white, picking out a fresh new crop of pencils, not to mention the all-important planning of a first-day-of-school outfit. With that in mind, we’ve put together our own back-to-school list for the grown-up you. Do you have everything you need to kick off the unofficial New Year in style?
A schooly-sporty jacket to toss on for the big game (and by game we mean Sunday brunch).
We’ve all done it. Worn that sweater that’s too warm for the first day of school because you simply must show it off.
A sleek-cool backpack that’s more street-chic than late-for-class.
New season, new scent. Pumpkin soufflé, anyone?
With all due respect to No. 2s, our new favorite pencils are spot-on.
A lesson taught early on that’s still a good rule of thumb: keep your hair out of your eyes! (Thanks, Mom.)
Even though we don’t have to show up for class anymore, it’s always fun to learn something, ahem, worthwhile.
A stylish desk is a happy desk (we can’t quite guarantee it’s a productive desk).
Get hopping on those book reports!
Because come September, we still have a soft spot for fresh-from-the-box saddle shoes.
